MTV Video Music Awards: Rihanna e Drake lideram nomeações
Rihanna e o rapper Drake foram os mais nomeados, com cinco indicações cada um, para os MTV Video Music Awards de 2012. Ambos estão juntos na categoria vídeo do ano, com "Take Care", dueto de Drake com Rihanna.
"We Found Love", de Rihanna, também está nessa corrida, ao lado de "Wide Awake", de Katy Perry, "Somebody That I Used To Know", de Gotye, e "Bad Girls", de M.I.A..
Katy Perry recebeu quatro nomeações, inclusive de melhor vídeo feminino, com "Part of Me".
Na lista para melhor novo artista estão Fun ("We Are Young"), Carly Rae Jepsen ("Call Me Maybe") e Frank Ocean ("Swim Good").
Os prémios serão entregues a 6 de Setembro, depois da votação do público. Na festa, Alicia Keys vai estrear uma canção do seu próximo álbum. A cantora já disse que “apresentar uma nova música nos VMAs é definitivamente especial. A primeira vez que cantei ‘No One’ foi nos VMAs. Foi a primeira vez que alguém no mundo ouviu ‘No One’. É o cenário perfeito. É a energia certa. É a vibração correta. As pessoas estão tão empolgadas com a noite da música e em ouvir estilos diferentes que só pode correr muito bem. Eu mal posso esperar”.
